Germany, Japan partner to face down 'aggressive' China
المانيا واليابان تتحالفان لمواجهة الصين ”العدوانية“
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has praised the strength of ties with Japan and underscored the importance of strategic partnership. He also called out China for being "increasingly aggressive."
أشاد وزير الخارجية الألماني يوهان فاديفول بقوة العلاقات مع اليابان وشدد على أهمية الشراكة الاستراتيجية. كما انتقد الصين لكونها ”تزداد عدوانية“.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul began his first trip in office to Japan by praising his host country as Berlin's "premium partner" in Asia, noting that Tokyo and Berlin share a "longstanding, deep and close friendship."
بدأ وزير الخارجية الألماني يوهان فاديفول أول زيارة له إلى اليابان منذ توليه منصبه بالإشادة بالبلد المضيف باعتباره ”الشريك المتميز“ لبرلين في آسيا، مشيرًا إلى أن طوكيو وبرلين تربطهما ”صداقة طويلة الأمد وعميقة ووثيقة“.
Wadephul, speaking alongside Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, called democracy and adherence to the rule of law shared values, something he said was important in "a time of crises and conflict."
وأشار فاديفول، في كلمة ألقاها إلى جانب وزير الخارجية الياباني تاكيشي إيوايا، إلى أن الديمقراطية والالتزام بسيادة القانون قيم مشتركة، وهو أمر قال إنه مهم في ”أوقات الأزمات والصراعات“.
Wadephul pointed to Ukraine, Gaza and Iran to "highlight that closer cooperation among friends and natural allies is becoming increasingly essential."
وأشار واديفول إلى أوكرانيا وغزة وإيران ”لتسليط الضوء على أن التعاون الوثيق بين الأصدقاء والحلفاء الطبيعيين أصبح ضروريًا بشكل متزايد“.
The Japanese foreign minister also underscored the importance of a close partnership between the G7 members — both leading economies in Europe and Asia — in the face of threats to the established international order.
كما شدد وزير الخارجية الياباني على أهمية الشراكة الوثيقة بين أعضاء مجموعة السبع الكبار — سواء الاقتصادات الرائدة في أوروبا أو آسيا — في مواجهة التهديدات التي يتعرض لها النظام الدولي القائم.

واديفول ينتقد الصين ”العدوانية“
Wadephul was unambiguous about the source of the threat to democracy and rule of law in the region, railing against repeated Chinese threats to "unilaterally change borders" in the Asia-Pacific.
كان واديوف واضحًا بشأن مصدر التهديد للديمقراطية وسيادة القانون في المنطقة، حيث انتقد التهديدات الصينية المتكررة بـ ”تغيير الحدود من جانب واحد“ في منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ.
"China repeatedly threatens, more or less openly, to unilaterally change the status quo and shift borders in its favor," Wadephul said.

The German minister chided China's "increasingly aggressive" behavior in the Taiwan Strait and the East and South China seas.
وانتقد الوزير الألماني سلوك الصين ”العدواني بشكل متزايد“ في مضيق تايوان وبحر الصين الشرقي والجنوبي.
"Any escalation in this sensitive hub of international trade," he said on Monday, "would have serious consequences for global security and the world economy."
وقال يوم الاثنين: ”أي تصعيد في هذا المركز الحساس للتجارة الدولية سيكون له عواقب وخيمة على الأمن العالمي والاقتصاد العالمي“.
The "fundamental principles of our global coexistence," he added, "are at stake here."
